In Search of Short-eared Owls - A Birding Field trip with DOAS

11/30/2017 - On Sunday, Dec. 10, Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society will lead a late afternoon field trip to southern Montgomery County to view Short-eared owls and other grassland birds.

Participants will meet at 3 p.m. at the Cooperstown Village Docks at the end of Fair Street in Cooperstown for carpooling. Dress appropriately for cold windy weather, minimal walking. For further information contact; Bob Donnelly at rsdonn@yahoo.com or 607-435-2054. The program is free and open to the public.

Short-eared owls are one of our few area owls that are active during the daytime. Their preferred grassland habitats are also areas where we find northern harriers. Join us on this trip for a great early winter birding experience!
