08/16/2018 - The William B. Ogden Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $201,273 through the New York State Aid for Library Construction Program. The library was constructed in 1897 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so the work of this project must be consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties as determined by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP.)

Also two of three bluestone chimneys will be restored, damaged stones replaced, and the chimneys will be repointed with hydraulic lime mortar.
This restoration project will require coordination with and approval of the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and will be completed by July, 2020. The library will be open normal hours during the construction period. The contractors will install and maintain barricades and signage to protect the public and the work area during the construction period. Lift equipment and scaffolds will be secured from public access.
