Auditions for a staged reading of a new musical Friday & Saturday, March 2 & 3, 2012 Tap Classes with Patti Dell begin Friday, March 2, 2012

02/24/2012 - On Friday, March 2, from 1-3 p.m., and Saturday, March 3 from 6-7 p.m., the Roxbury Arts Group invites aspiring and experienced actors of all ages to audition for a part in a staged reading of 'The Most Miserable Christmas Tree', a new musical by Jersey Boys conductor Debra Barsha, and Broadway veteran Tim Sulka.

The Most Miserable Christmas Tree tells the tale of Douglas Fir, a Christmas Tree who questions the status quo. After being dumped on the street after his one shot at Christmas, Douglas encounters a bevy of characters that help him understand the true meaning of the holiday.

Auditions will be held at the Roxbury Arts Center, 5025 Vega Mt. Rd., Roxbury, NY, call 607-326-7908 to schedule a time. Please bring a song to audition with. Sides from the script will be made available to read from. The staged reading will be performed for the public on Saturday, April 14, 2012, 7:00 pm at the Roxbury Arts Center.

If dancing is more your thing, consider enrolling in our 10 week Tap Class, with renowned instructor Patti Dell, beginning Friday, March 2, 2012. Patti began her career at an early age as a tap-dancing member of the Dell Family and has performed throughout the United States and Canada.

The fee for tap is $50 for children 9 and under and $100. for all others. Our spring session of Ballet, Yoga, Creative Movement, Belly Dancing and Hip-Hop begins Tuesday, April 10, 2012 ($50. advance registration and $65. first class for a 5-week session) with an eye toward our grand finale Recital on stage at the Roxbury Arts Center in May. All classes are for children and adults of all ages and fill up quickly, call 607-326-7908 to reserve your spot.
