03/30/2012 - UHS Delaware Valley Hospital's Emergency Room is now using a new technology to serve their Emergency Services patients even better. According to Mary Doig, RN, Director of Ambulatory and Emergency Services, the hospital recently implemented Med Host, an all-inclusive electronic emergency department system. The system incorporates documentation, computerized physician order entry and discharge instructions. Ms. Doig stated, "This information system is designed to make emergency department visits easier and more efficient. Using electronic medical data management, we can increase patient safety and track trends, which will help with staffing." She continued, "Our Emergency Services patients traditionally have high levels of satisfaction, but this new technology allows us to prepare a printed discharge summary with easily understandable and legible instructions for each patient to take home, making the patient experience even better."
