07/05/2012 - In honor of Juliett Gordon Low, a 100th Girl Scout Anniversary Garden is going to be planted on the fairgrounds.
Any Girl Scout, past and present can come July 8, 2 to 4 p.m., July 14, 10 a.m. to noon, or July 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. to help plant the main entrance at the fairgrounds. Enter the grounds at the main drive in gate, across from the armory, and a planting crew will meet you there on all of the above dates.
Bring your own gloves and tools. Some plants will be available, but you can also bring your own Shasta Daisy or any white or Daisy-like plant. The Community Gardens at the fair are an ongoing effort by many groups and volunteers to beautify the grounds for the fair each year.
